Disruptions and damage to infrastructure have been reported in several cities in Japan's Kumamoto prefecture, in southern Japan, following an earlier earthquake and associated aftershocks, at approximately 21:00 local time on 14 April.
The worst-affected cities in the prefecture include Kumamoto, Mashiki, and Uki. There has reportedly been minor to severe damage to buildings, with several buildings having partially collapsed in the aforementioned cities.

Honda has halted manufacturing-related operations at its Kumamoto Factory (Ozu-machi, Kikuchi-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture) since the night of April 14, and has not commenced operations on April 15, due to inspection of the facility. A decision to commence operations on April 18 or later will be made based on factors including the state of the facility.
