Ranskassa astuu 1.7.2012 voimaan laki, jonka mukaan moottoriajoneuvossa tulee olla käyttämätön alkometripakkaus. Lokakuun 2012 alusta alkaen puhalluskokeeseen tarvittavan välineistön puuttumisesta sakotetaan.

FNTR, France has informed us that according to the French breath test law of 28 February 2012 issued on 1 March 2012, from 1 July 2012 all drivers of any motor vehicle, excluding mopeds, will need to carry an unused breathalyser kit.
Enforcement of an €11fine for non-compliance to this measure will start on 1 November 2012.

The breathalyser kit must meet certain conditions, notably the expiration date set by the manufacturer.

In order to abide by this measure, drivers must:
• carry an unused breathalyser kit, available immediately and conforming to the NF X 20 702 standard for chemical breathalyser tests and the NF X 20 704 standard for electronic breathalyser tests. Breathalyser kits meeting these French standards are not solely manufactured and sold in France. A list of certified companies carrying the NF label of breathalyser kits is available on the LNE website – www.lne.eu
• stay within the legal blood alcohol limit of 50mg per 100ml of blood. Anyone driving in France must ensure that the breathalyser kit they are carrying is calibrated to the French legal limit.
Authorities will not ask drivers to use their own breathalyser kit to test their blood alcohol level. Should a driver be required to submit to a blood alcohol test, authorities will use their own material.
