the problem is not so much with the coils as with interference from the coils... so we find that there can be a problem at high torque on a 999, or 749R around the 8500 RPM area. This can be reduced by repairing the wiring harness, as they have very bad earth connections in most cases, and this makes for more interference. We have had U59 ECUs on these bikes working perfectly, but only after some effort was put into the wiring harness. On a 749 there is not often a problem, but sometimes it can happen around 10300 RPM.

It seems not so much can be fixed by changing the coils. We have tried 998 coils, Hayabusa coils, Monster S4 coils, and a few others, but problems seem closer to the harness earth than the coils.

I am building a new production of U59 now which has a design revision , we hope to have solved our problem with the coil interference and I will be making an announcement on the website when this is confirmed
