Itte ajelin fillarilla n. 15000 km. Ainoa ongelma oli pakosarja. Se oli vm. 1994, myydessä ajettu 62000 ja käyrät alko mennä. Ne on vähän hinnakkaita...

GSX1100G
Looking for a powerfull, shaft driven bike, but not willing to burn infinite amounts of money on your machine? The GSX1100G might be an option for you.
In the time span 1990-1995 Suzuki tried to formulate an answer to Honda's ST1100, the Pan European. The Pan still is a nightmare for our German friends in Munich (BMW), and is very successful within the group of 35+ year old big spenders. At the end of the day Suzuki was not successful, the bike was "meat nor fish" as we say in the Netherlands. The styling and the fact that there was no nice fairing available contributed to the fact that the GSX1100G is a rare bike. The engine is the same as the GSX1100 Katana engine, except that the valves are rocker operated, which is the first disadvantage, as valve adjustment is required every 6000 km(4000 miles). Also the SACS (oil cooling) system seems to have SHELL, TEXACO, etc in mind as 5 litres of oil is required each 6000km! The engine is an easy starter - Just open the choke and the engine starts immediately, even during the winter. As long as the engine is not at its operating temperature, there is a dead spot with respect to performance starting at 3500 rpm. I don't mind, I am used to treating a cold engine like a baby. However: the engine stays cold for a long time (5km or more) and sounds very rough. Once up to temperature it gives you plenty of power it'll manage 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in 3.5 secs and a top end of 230 kph (143 mph). What about the frame? It is rigid. Two tubes are welded on the steering stem, eliminating the wobbly behaviour at high speeds. Is it perfect? Nope. Driving at 80 kph, without holding the steering, the bike starts to resonate, but it's not that noticable. If you don't buy a fairing, you will be blown away of course. A nice fairing enhances the look of your machine, and only costs around US$800. The suspension is very comfortable. Bumpy roads are no problem at all although the front springs are weak, heavy braking results in heavy diving The gearbox is not that smooth a little bit sticky. The neutral position is found very easily, shifting it in the first gear results only in an average clunck. The hydraulic clutch is fine, it does its job perfect irrespecitive whether it is cold or warm. The brakes are fine too although, Suzuki did not fit a six piston type on the front, but a simple dual piston brake. Not spectacular, but sufficient. The rear brake is sufficient, not remarkable.
Build quality. Well the paint is ok and I am not the I-wash-my-motorbike-every-week type, and use the bike in winter conditions However, after 5 years the chrome on the instrument housing fell off costing about US$105 to replace. The bike is very reliable, after 55,000km, everything is ok
